Outlaws 2001
With the visit of Evert Bloemsma, the participants were called “outlaws”.
They broke all possible classical type laws, forced by…???
The Interface
The interface looked like an old computer from the CIA.
Mugshots were taken from everyone, and a serial number was added
Whenever Evert came up with a type law, somebody broke it… It was an interesting tension between classical and experimental typography.
Bob De Schutter: Chainiac
His crime was having too much fun during the workshop!
His presentation was a challenging game of Space Invaders where you could fill in the name of the meanies!
Bob De Schutter: Chainiac
Most of the time quickly ending in “Game Over”.
And more if you want to! By using lowercase and uppercase the font was able to build "chains".
Nico Potvin: ghetto
Nico finally got accused of not respecting the baseline.
No wonder: he climbed on top of the roof of the art college and as a sniper shot pictures of great Belgian backstreets.

Nico Potvin: ghetto
This resulted in a kind of 3d-typeface.
In his interface you could build your own (type of) Belgian Backstreet Castle!
Dennis Schmitz: in between
Dennis the menace: he killed Times!
Dennis Schmitz: in between
What was left: smoke and the in between air.
